IFA Faustball World Tour 2025 legt eine Pause ein: Neustrukturierung für eine erfolgreiche Zukunft

 

Die IFA Faustball World Tour wird im Jahr 2025 eine Pause einlegen, wie die International Fistball Association (IFA) im Rahmen ihrer Präsidiumssitzung am Wochenende beschlossen hat. Ziel der Aussetzung ist es, die Tour umfassend zu überarbeiten und neu zu strukturieren, um den Anforderungen der internationalen Faustball-Community gerecht zu werden und das Format für die Zukunft zu stärken. 

 

Die im Jahr 2018 gestartete World Tour hat sich als bedeutendes internationales Wettbewerbskonzept etabliert, bei dem sich die besten Teams in zahlreichen Turnieren auf der ganzen Welt miteinander messen. Dennoch sieht sich die IFA Sportkommission mit Herausforderungen konfrontiert. Die aktuelle Struktur der World Tour entspricht nicht mehr vollständig den Erwartungen der Top-Teams, Turnierorganisatoren und Fans. Das umfangreiche und konstruktive Feedback der Beteiligten hat den Entschluss bekräftigt, eine grundlegende Überarbeitung der Tour anzugehen.

 

„Die IFA Faustball World Tour war ein bedeutender Schritt in der Entwicklung unseres Sports, aber es ist nun an der Zeit, das Format neu zu denken“, erklärt Christoph Oberlehner, Generalsekretär der International Fistball Association. „Wir wollen sicherstellen, dass die World Tour weiterhin ein attraktives und professionelles Angebot für Teams, Veranstalter und Fans weltweit bleibt. Die Pause 2025 gibt uns die notwendige Zeit, eine nachhaltige und zukunftsorientierte Lösung zu entwickeln.“

 

Auch Gastão Englert, Vorsitzender der IFA-Sportkommission, betont die Wichtigkeit dieser Entscheidung: „Die Entscheidung, die World Tour 2025 auszusetzen, fiel uns nicht leicht. Aber sie ist notwendig, um die Bedürfnisse aller Beteiligten besser zu berücksichtigen. Wir wollen eine neue Struktur schaffen, die den globalen Faustballsport stärkt, und gleichzeitig sicherstellen, dass die besten Teams weiterhin auf höchstem Niveau konkurrieren können.“

 

Neben der Überarbeitung der World Tour wird es auch zukünftig ein internationales Highlight für die besten Klubmannschaften geben: Die Klub-Weltmeisterschaft, die das bisherige World Tour Finale ablösen soll. Das neue Format soll den Teams zusätzliche Anreize bieten und den Stellenwert des Faustballsports weiter steigern. Details über das neue Konzept werden demnächst vorgestellt.

 

Die IFA lädt alle interessierten Parteien – von Teams über Organisatoren bis hin zu Fans – dazu ein, sich aktiv in den Neustrukturierungsprozess einzubringen. Ziel ist es, die IFA Faustball World Tour ab 2026 in einem modernen und zukunftsfähigen Format zurückzubringen.

 

Die IFA dankt allen Beteiligten für ihre Unterstützung und ihr Engagement für den Faustballsport und blickt mit Zuversicht auf die kommenden Veränderungen.

IFA Fistball World Tour 2025 takes a break: Restructuring for a successful future

 

The IFA Fistball World Tour will take a break in 2025, as the International Fistball Association (IFA) decided at its last Board of Directors meeting. The aim of the suspension is to comprehensively revise and restructure the tour in order to meet the needs of the international Fistball community and strengthen the format for the future. 

 

The World Tour, which was launched in 2018, has established itself as an important international competition concept in which the best teams compete against each other in numerous tournaments around the world. Nevertheless, the IFA Sports Commission is facing challenges. The current structure of the World Tour no longer fully meets the expectations of the top teams, tournament organizers and fans. The extensive and constructive feedback from those involved has reinforced the decision to tackle a fundamental overhaul of the tour.

 

“The IFA Fistball World Tour has been a significant step in the development of our sport, but it is now time to rethink the format,” explains Christoph Oberlehner, Secretary General of the International Fistball Association. “We want to ensure that the World Tour remains an attractive and professional offering for teams, organizers and fans worldwide. The 2025 break gives us the necessary time to develop a sustainable and future-oriented solution.”

 

Gastão Englert, Chairman of the IFA Sports Commission, also emphasizes the importance of this decision: “The decision to suspend the World Tour 2025 was not an easy one. But it is necessary in order to better take into account the needs of all those involved. We want to create a new structure that strengthens the global sport of Fistball while ensuring that the best teams can continue to compete at the highest level.”

 

In addition to the revision of the World Tour, there will also be an international highlight for the best club teams in the future: The Club World Championship, which will replace the previous World Tour Finals. The new format is intended to offer the teams additional incentives, empower the continental championships and further increase the status of Fistball. Details of the new concept will be presented soon.

 

The IFA invites all interested parties – from teams and organizers to fans – to actively participate in the restructuring process. The aim is to bring back the IFA Fistball World Tour in a modern and sustainable format from 2026.
